DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducting geotechnical material field testing such as field compaction testing, wet concrete sampling, and concrete and asphalt coring, as part of QC and QA programs;
  • Performing lab testing for soil and asphalt when required;
  • Assisting Lab Manager in maintaining the laboratory in appropriate working condition;
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines and regulations and indicated by the McIntosh Perry and Safety Office;
  • Participating in all assigned Health and Safety training programs;
  • Attending in technical training programs as required;
  • Maintaining strong and effective working relationship with McIntosh Perry's clients and subcontractors and;
  • Other duties as my be required 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering & or Civil Engineering Technology. Secondary School Diploma will also be considered based on previous work experience, trade or training. 
  • Previous relevant experience is an asset. 
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn; 
  • Available to work flexible schedules and travel to site locations for extended periods of time within Ontario; 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; English preferred; Bilingual (English/French) would be an asset. 
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively; 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team; and 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
