How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:

Under the guidance of the Manager, Strategic Business Planning and Performance, the Coordinator, Fundraising and Sponsorship demonstrates excellence in fundraising program development and the research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and sponsors. Utilizing existing experience in fundraising and sponsorship development, this position demonstrates excellence in the research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and sponsorships.

 

Through the development and management of proposals, communications and campaign material, the incumbent will apply best practices in stakeholder relations and leverage their writing and content management skills to develop engaging fundraising and donor communications. The position will serve as a strategic writer, regularly crafting sponsorship requests and project proposals. This position ensures compliance with all pertinent fundraising regulations, standards, and principles, and upholds accountability standards and code of ethical principles for fundraising professionals.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates proposal development and submission requirements for a variety of proposals (e.g., sponsorships, partnerships, major gifts) and fundraising appeals (i.e., annual gift requests).
  • Manages ongoing relationships with and outreach to current, lapsed and prospective donors and sponsors.
  • Coordinates donor and sponsor stewardship and outreach, including social media callouts, personalized messaging, and generalized outreach materials, ensuring donors and sponsors receive appropriate recognition and gratitude.
  • Coordinates and implements all aspects of the Toronto and Region Conservation Foundation’s annual giving program, with a focus on growing monthly giving and mid-level giving to support pipeline development.
  • Coordinates with TRCA program staff to find alignments for Foundation support, including consultation on budgets and workplans to ensure Foundation funds are allocated appropriately.

What will you need to succeed:

  • Post-secondary diploma, not-for-profit management, fundraising management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or other related discipline
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of (2) years related experience in fundraising for not-for-profit sector in a public relations and communications role.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint)
  • Experience and/or working understanding of Blackbaud.
  • Able to write persuasive or compelling content for the purpose of generating positive responses or heightened interest by others.
  • Experience interacting and connecting with persons of various social, cultural, or economic backgrounds; at ease with a variety of audiences.
  • Influences decisions by presenting technical information and evidence in an appealing and easy to understand manner.
  • Identifies new opportunities for developing new internal and external customer bases.
  • Anticipates future internal and external customer needs and incorporates them into goal setting, products, and services.
  • Experience working with media and with volunteer boards.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in communications with applied skills in fund development and persuasive writing.
  • Excellent knowledge of fund development methods and techniques.
