The Opportunity

Reporting into the Manager, Digital Airport Solutions, the Associate Airport Systems Analyst is primarily responsible to provide tier two (2) technical support for the System & Support Technicians for WAA Enterprise Systems. The Associate Airport Systems Analyst is also responsible for resolving issues around maintenance or hardware and informing and training System & Support Technicians and other duties as required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the technical functionality of the WAA Enterprise Systems, including but not limited to: Common Use Passenger Processing Systems, Common Use Resource Allocation and Aeronautical Billing Systems, Airport Security Systems (CCTV and Access Control), Ground Transportation and Parking Control Systems, Property Management Systems and Centralized Incident and Asset Management Systems, and Business Intelligence and Airport Analytics Systems;
  • Provide tier two (2) technical support of the Airport Enterprise Systems;
  • Complete technical service requests and provide continuous application support for Airport Enterprise Systems by either resolving directly or escalating to vendor support;
  • Assist Business System Owners and Superusers to develop test scripts and User Acceptance Testing methodology;
  • Coordinate with other WAA IT resources to ensure connectivity and IT infrastructure requirements are met;
  • Test and implement system changes;
  • Monitor performance of the Airport Enterprise Systems and make recommendations for equipment replacement or enhancements;
  • Create, implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules;
  • Provide training for System & Support Technicians and ensure that their work is performed correctly; and
  • Ensure equipment inventory for spare parts is maintained.

   Selection Criteria include:

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of 6-months previous or related experience;
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to summarize information in a meaningful way for the intended audience;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Extensive knowledge of data structures and models – hands on experience with MS SQL Server preferred;
  • Good knowledge of programming techniques and database design;
  • Extensive troubleshooting skills;
  • Previous experience with WAA Enterprise Systems is considered an asset;
  • Proven attendance and reliability; and
  • Employment record in good standing.
