Veterinary Specialty Centre of Newfoundland and Labrador is the province’s only specialty referral centre and 24 hour full-service emergency clinic. We provide expert care, right here. Dr. Bailey’s goal in opening VSCNL was that no pet owner would have to leave the province to get the care their pet needs. We have the only board-certified surgeon and radiologist in the province, a CT scanner, chemotherapy services, a canine blood donor program, and the only ICU that is fully staffed 24 hours a day. When it comes to diagnosing and treating the pets of Newfoundland and Labrador, there is nothing we can't do!

As our ideal candidate you will have:

  • AHT/VT Diploma
  • Passion for what you do every day! Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude
  • A strong desire to educate and build solid relationships with clients
  • Solid communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Veterinary Technician
  • Experience with anesthetic delivery, support, and monitoring equipment
  • Skills to induce and monitor anesthesia while monitoring patients’ changing condition
  • Ability to calculate drug doses and administer medications intravenously, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, and/or orally
  • Experience with running CRIs, responding to emergencies and providing CPR
  • Experience with working in exam rooms, assisting doctors with procedures, taking client histories, taking patients’ vitals and with patient restraint and venipuncture
