As part of the FSQA Americas team, this role supports food safety and quality assurance initiatives to drive continuous improvement across the supply chain. Working closely with the FSQA category leads, this role is responsible for supporting technical management of food ingredient and suppliers for the Subway exports markets, ensuring these markets get approved food ingredients in compliance to Subway standards.  This individual also provides ongoing Quality and Food Safety guidance to the cross functional teams, working with the local teams to develop alternate food ingredients and solutions in compliance to the local regulations to protect our guests and the brand.

In addition to the supporting role for export markets, responsibilities include working with the FSQA Americas team, Non-Trad team, IPC, suppliers and distributors to build and maintain a KPI system to enable proper analysis, corrective plans and initiatives for continuous improvement.

 Essential Functions:
  • Collaborate with the FSQA Americas category leads, Nutritionist, Non-Trad, suppliers, IPC and distributor teams to approve and manage ingredients to support menu strategy on export markets. Should be comfortable with applying the FSQA guidelines and risk management approach while remaining flexible to individual team and business needs. Manage non-core product categories as assigned.
  • Develop knowledge and flexibility to work in all food categories (bakery, proteins, dairy, produce, sauces, etc.), facilitating communication and engaging the category leads, Nutritionist, IPC, and local teams on addressing the supply needs of the export markets.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for the export markets and collaborate with other functions (IPC, Distributors, Customer Care, FSQA category leads) to resolve restaurant and customer-based quality complaints.
  • Monitor supplier performance on key product attributes to provide specific data/analysis to the category leads and FSQA leadership, participating on problem solving across the region.
Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Business Administration or related field and 5+ years experience with quality assurance management, preferably with large food service or supply chain companies.
  • Experience on food safety and quality subjects, as well as product categories (bread, protein, cheese, sauces), preferably with QSR companies.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools and data collection methodology to enable creation of consistent dashboards and reporting system.
  • Proficiency on dashboard/reporting systems, such as Tableau, Microsoft Dynamics, Smartsheet, etc.
  • Organizational agility and ability of developing working relationships with the different internal/external agents.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills to make information accessible to different audiences and to influence decisions within the organization using consistent data/analysis.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English, Spanish).
