Position type:  Permanent Full-Time ( 40 hours/ week)

Our team supports the 10 ministries, 1 partner, and departments of P2C in providing guidance, resources, programs, and services.

About the Role
The HR Coordinator will strategically support the HR Director and HR Generalist in administering various programs of Power to Change in the areas of recruitment,  health & safety, policy interpretation, and training. This position will also contribute to HR’s strategic goals and  other team areas. 

In this role, you will be responsible for achieving the following objectives:

  • Recruitment (60%)
    • The entire centrally-funded hiring process from beginning to the end (screening, interviews, references, offer, system access form, etc)  is done in an effective way to help bring the right candidates for the organization.  
    • Short-term interns, affiliates and practicums/co-op students applications are processed accordingly with continuous improvement to the application program. 
    • The AIA hiring process (setting up the application, answering questions from AIA reps, working with Isabel to ensure that she has all the EA templates) are properly set up and managed.
    • The opportunities inbox are managed in a timely manner. 
  • Training (15%)
    • New Staff Training for supported staff is organized to meet the new staff’s needs in the area of Ministry Partnership Development and other ministry foundation trainings.  
    • New Staff Training for centrally funded staff is planned and organized to help onboard the new staff smoothly and successfully into the organization. 
  • Health and Safety ( 10%) 
    • Chair / join the Healthy & Safety Committee
    • Conduct and support training for staff in these areas 
    • Remain current on Worksafe policy changes and update P2C’s  policies as needed
  • Orientation/Onboarding (10%)
    • HR orientation for all new CF staff, ST interns and those reporting to HQ (includes keeping manuals and onboarding processes up to date) is conducted with excellent onboarding experience for our new staff
  • Team Events and Priorities (5%)
    •  Team meetings and events
    •  Weekly P2C Chapel service
    •  Team weekly Bible studies
    •  Other team initiatives and activities as required 

About You
  • You have a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for ministry
  • You are able to work independently 
  • You have proven written and verbal communication skills
  • You are able to navigate the Google Suite environment and are comfortable with learning new technologies and systems
  •  You have  experience in full cycle recruitment  and is knowledgable with Canadian  Human Rights Act and legal compliance.   
  • You have knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • You have excellent organizational skills
  • You must be technologically savvy and have a continuous improvement mindset.
  • You are professional and approachable with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • You love thinking creatively
  • You have experience with a non profit organization (preferred)
  • You are fluent in French (an asset)

Education and Experience
  • Completion or in process of completion of an appropriate Human Resources Management program or equivalent is required.
  • You have 2 years minimum experience working in an HR related role specifically in the area of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, health and safety, and training 
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce or similar program is considered an asset
