DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

As a member of our Community Development group, you will be working with multi-disciplinary teams on various land development projects based out of our Perth, Ottawa or Kingston, ON offices. Duties include, but are not limited to: 
  • Project Management of planning and development-related consulting services including scheduling, resource planning, management of internal and external members of Client and Project Teams, budgeting, and financial reviews; 
  • Client Service Management including building and maintaining key client relations by providing quality, transparent planning and land development service deliverables and project management; 
  • Prepare, review, and contribute to work proposals and responses to requests for proposals; 
  • Working, coordinating, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of land development and other professionals including Civil Engineers, Technologists, Surveying Professionals, Planners, and others within the Community Development Division at MP and elsewhere; 
  • Reviewing municipal and provincial planning documents and performing due diligence activities and project evaluation; 
  • Liaising with municipalities and government agencies concerning development applications, policy, and associated government undertakings; and
  • Participate in public meetings for development approval applications, including conducting presentations before municipal Committees and Councils.   

QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Completion of a university degree in planning or a related discipline; 
  • Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and a full Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP); 
  • Ten (10) years of experience in planning or land development approvals, preferably within the private sector (or demonstrated equivalent); 
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills; and
  • Familiarity with the work of other disciplines (civil engineering, surveying, environmental engineering, etc.) typically involved in land development in Ontario.
