About the opportunity:

The Project Manager role is a 6-month contract position, and will work under the direction of the Vice President, Information Technology, and senior leadership. You will execute specific projects related to MCAN’s strategy and will lead projects from inception to completion within the scope outlined and budget assigned. Further, you will be focused on working closely with multiple departments to help achieve their strategic and operational objectives.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing an effective project management office (PMO) and project management cycle with methodologies, policies, standards, procedures, and templates.
  • Championing project management best practices and continuous improvement through Agile and Lean processes.
  • Delivering best practices in Change Management to ensure a smooth deployment and transition throughout the initiative, including changes to business processes, systems, and technologies.
  • Liaising and working with senior leadership, and internal teams to complete check-ins, gather updates and make changes to the process and direction of each project.
  • Providing creditable and agile leadership, coaching and direction to the IT team and other internal, indirect team members.
  • Compliance with all risk, regulatory and compliance frameworks, and guidelines of the organization.

The work experience, skills, education that you bring to thrive:

  • Qualifications and Work Experience:
    • 8-10 years of Project Management experience.
    • Knowledge and working practice with Lean and/or Agile methodologies.
    • Bachelor's degree, post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience required.
    • Experience in a financial service (preferably in Mortgage industry) is an asset.
    • Project Manager Professional (PMP) and/or Project Management Institute (PMI) designations are preferred.
    • An appreciation of end-user requirements, specifically the ability to see the big picture and understand the need of stakeholders

  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Advanced communication skills and the ability to engage all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis.
    • Proficient at the manager level, but also not afraid to be hands-on project management.
    • Highly organized with good time management skills.
    • An analytical thinker with creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Expert team leadership capability with the ability to handle conflict professionally and bring to a successful resolution.
