The Opportunity (18 month contract position)
This role isn’t just developing electric fireplaces, it’s redefining comfort.
Become part of an energetic Global Engineering Design team. You’ll get the opportunity to create consumer products all the way from concept through full scale production. This role allows you to apply your technical engineering skills, be creative, and flex your business and project management skills to deliver products on time and on cost.
Who is this role for?
This role is for someone who likes to take ownership of a project and get results. The ideal candidate will have studied Mechanical Engineering (or similar/equivalent) and can balance the technical skills with the soft skills required to complete a full new product development. This role is for the Engineer that wants to be challenged and round out their skills.
What can you expect?
You can expect to be challenged. This role will put most product engineers outside of their comfort zone. (And that’s great!) Balancing CAD, testing, manufacturing issues and a GANTT chart isn’t easy.
You will be expected to take ownership and accountability for the success of your projects. You will directly impact the success of a project.
Finally expect to have some fun! Product design is your passion, and you get to do this for work.
What You Need
- University Degree or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar)
- Two (2) or more years’ experience in all aspects of Engineering and Design are required
- Proficient with MSOffice (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook (e-mail, calendar), Solidworks, Gantt Charts (MS Project or equivalent)
- Adaptability (Things will change. Adapt)
- Ability to self-manage and work effectively with little supervision
- Passionate for product design/ development
- Project Management experience. (Build project GANTTs)
- Product costing and estimating
