Position Title: Graphic Design Co-op Student - Corporate Communications

Reports To: Senior Vie President, Strategy and Chief Marketing Officer

 

Work Arrangements: We are currently working remotely, and we will be moving to a hybrid model when our office renovation is complete (approximately June 2023), coming into the office 25% on designated days.

 

The Opportunity: We have a unique opportunity for a Digital Marketing Co-op Student to be an inaugural member of the newly formed Corporate Marketing team and our agency partners as we develop and launch a newly formed Equitable Life Corporate Brand. You will be part of a team that is passionate about our mutual status and a group of seasoned story tellers who are excited to tell the unique Equitable Life Mutual Brand Story to our colleagues, clients, partners, and members of the community in which we live and work in.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Work cooperatively with members of Corporate Marketing and marketing colleagues across our lines of business to support the design, development, and implementation of web-based communication strategies with a focus on our corporate social platforms
  • Assist the inhouse team and agency partners with tasks associated with the SEO and SEM strategy
  • Support further development of site content, architecture, usability, maintenance, updating and evolution of the website
  • Help analyze website traffic and seek opportunities and avenues to optimize performance
  • Work with members of the Corporate Marketing team on list management, support, and campaign execution tasks

 

What you will bring:

  • Understanding of digital marketing concepts, the delivery of web content and how effective marketing campaigns are managed
  • Ability to create positive external relationships and internal cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong written and oral communication skills through multiple mediums and for a wide range of audiences across The Equitable Life ecosystem
  • Knowledge of the use of social media in a business-to-business environment
  • Understanding of the Principals of Project Management
  • Team player who is both flexible and adaptable
  • Comfort with technical tasks, such as working with spreadsheets and similar data

  • Creative mindset and stamina to try new things and figure out how to continuously improve
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in or willingness to learn the following tools and platforms:
    • Organic and paid social media tools (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook)
    • CRM platforms like Hubspot or Marketo
    • Analytics and Tracking tools like Google Analytics
    • Website CMS platforms
    • Design tools (Canva, or Webflow)

 

Education Recommendations:

  • Currently enrolled in marketing, communications, web development, or programming with Co-op 
  • Advanced communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication writing and/or copywriting skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills including multi-tasking and time management
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly, think fast under pressure, and work independently in fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and comfortable with learning new systems quickly
