What are we looking for:

Reporting to the Sourcing Manager - Packaging, the Sourcing Specialist, Packaging plays an essential role in Procurement. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the sourcing strategy, manage vendors to optimize supply channels, identify alternative sources, seek opportunities for process improvements and costs savings, and work collaboratively with our vendors to deliver on targets for our clients.


The position requires a talented individual who has meticulous attention to details, is organized, and is self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. We are looking for someone who is skilled in identifying unique problems in the sourcing of packaging and formulate and recommend innovative solutions to best meet the company’s needs, can make decisions independently and operates with a sense of urgency.

You will work closely with the Sourcing Manager - Packaging and provide strategic sourcing services to key functional groups in Cosmetica Labs such as, Packaging Development, R&I, Product Development, Project Launch Managers, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Planning & Quality.


What you will be doing:
Develop and Execute Procurement Policies, Procedures and Strategies:

•Contribute to the execution of the company’s short and long-term plans within the Sourcing department.

•Lead complex sourcing projects that have a significant impact on the operations of the company.

•Demonstrate project feasibility, provide strategic advice/guidance, identify project timing, and resource needs to the internal clients, including the senior level stakeholders with a broad range of requirements and perspectives.

•Develop sourcing management strategies for category specialty (spend analytics, identify spend efficiencies and sourcing opportunities) and category value optimization strategies (total cost of ownership analytics, supply chain quality improvements, cost modeling, procurement related economics & financial analysis).

•Build key and strategic procurement and sourcing standardized processes across various categories: sourcing process, supplier selection, approval, and performance management processes, establish quality standards and expectations.

•Conduct cost benefit analysis to identify the best options, research products and suppliers, and formulate sourcing strategies to meet the needs of the company.

•Implement improvements in the planning area to improve customer fill rate and inventory targets.


Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Relationship Management:

•Source, qualify, and onboard innovative suppliers for packaging that can reduce costs, improve service, or enhance product quality.

•Manage the supplier database and find alternative suppliers if the existing ones are unable to meet their obligations by leveraging the data from vendor scorecard/KPIs.

•Identify single-source packaging risks and develop contingency/alternate plans to ensure there are no gaps in the supply chain.

•Lead tender management events (RFX), negotiations and manage worldwide and/or regional/local contracts.

•Determine and negotiate contract terms and conditions, supplier contracts, engage with the legal counsel to ensure the negotiated terms and conditions are to the company benefit.


Cost Management:

•Create and execute cost-saving initiatives to achieve annual company targets.

Responsible for reducing costs and lead-timein efforts to continuously improve initiatives without jeopardizing quality or business continuity.


Analytics:

•Independently conduct data analysis and transactions and interpret information to further drive strategic opportunities, ensure an optimized supply chain, and direct others in the requirements of data analysis.


Relationship Building:

•Drive strong alignment and collaboration that can influence cross-functional stakeholders.

•Develop, maintain, and utilize professional networks to achieve procurement objectives.

•Provide training to assigned and expanded client group, including defending procedures and processes as required.

•Undertake other duties as required in support of the department.


What makes you a "glittering" candidate:
 
•Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, or relevant work experience.

•At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in procurement or sourcing, ideally in a high growth industry.

•Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, CPG, retail, or distribution environments.

•Demonstrated knowledge of RFX management, Strategic Sourcing Lifecycle and a thorough understanding of sourcing methodologies.

•Knowledge of ERP systems, cloud-based software applications (e.g., Smartsheet).

•Proficiency in Excel, Power Point.

•Proven project management and data analytics skills.

•Superior negotiation skills and knowledge of negotiation techniques.

•Excellent presentation skills and ability to convey information on point.

•Self-directed and motivated in a fast paced and dynamic environment, seeking out to learn new skills, information, technology that improve abilities.

•Thought leadership and communication skills that influences decision making.

•Strong time management, organizational and multitasking abilities in effectively managing constraints and competing priorities.

•Excellent critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
